Golden Venture Folding, also known as Chinese origami or 3D origami, is a form of modular origami. This method of origami folds pieces of paper into a simple triangular unit, and then uses hundreds of these small units to form a beautiful sculpture. The amount of triangular units required is closely related to the model you need to make. Generally, 250 to 500 such units are needed, which can be used to make a swan or a pineapple.
As the name suggests, Chinese origami originated in China. Its popularity in the United States is due to the fact that in 1993, a ship called the Golden Adventure brought illegal cross-border Chinese masters of this art to the United States, and this art form also spread in the United States. Many Chinese who crossed the border illegally were innocently imprisoned in American prisons. To pass the time, these people started making simple origami models like this. Many of them gave these models as gifts to people who had helped them. There are also many works on display at the traveling exhibit. Finally, in 2006, a movie profoundly exposed the unfair treatment suffered by the Chinese, and things improved to a certain extent.
