The following introduces hand-made home storage boxes of various styles using kraft paper origami, both round and square. There must be one that will satisfy you, so let’s follow the illustrations and DIY together.
You need to prepare kraft paper (of course other paper can also be used, such as old magazines, newspapers, etc., which can be recycled), cardboard, transparent tape, glue, paper cutters, etc. Therefore, do not throw away the books, newspapers, magazines, and packaging paper bags that have been eliminated at home in the future. They can be used to make storage boxes by hand. For specific DIY production steps, please refer to the detailed illustrated tutorial below.
Step one: Cut the paper into strips about 4cm wide, then fold them in half to 2cm wide, and try to keep the length at least 30cm.
The first way to fold a paper basket:
① Take 8 pieces of paper tape and place them flatly on a flat surface.
② Take another 8 pieces of paper tape and braid them vertically into the horizontal paper tape. You can apply glue while braiding.
③After braiding, adjust the position of the paper tape so that the length of the extra paper tape on the four sides is the same.
④ Fold the excess paper tape back on one side so that the side of the paper tape stands up, and then weave the paper tape into the side elevation. The remaining three side elevations are treated in the same way.
⑤If the paper bag is not long enough to wrap around once, you can use 2 paper tapes.
⑥After braiding the side facade, fold down the excess paper tape on the side. If it is not folded enough, you can cut it off directly.
The second way to fold paper storage baskets:
① Prepare 8 paper tapes and a round cardboard with a diameter of about 15cm.
② Arrange 8 paper strips crosswise into a circle. Apply glue to the center of each paper strip you put on top. Finally, glue the cardboard to the center point.
③ Use one hand to hold up the paper tape, and the other hand to weave the paper tape into the side elevation.
④Weave it up layer by layer.
⑤After braiding to the height you need, stuff the remaining paper tape back down.
The third way to fold paper storage baskets:
①Take 8 paper strips and weave them together crosswise like the first paper frame. Here comes the key point, as shown in the picture above, draw a rhombus inside the square.
②Put the paper strips up along the sides of the drawn rhombus. You will find that the directions of all the paper strips are intertwined and diagonally upward. Follow the trend of the paper tape,Braid these paper tapes (no need to add more paper tapes, just these 8 paper tapes).
③When braiding reaches the required height, fold the excess paper tape back down. At this time, the edge of the paper frame will form a nice triangle.
The fourth way to fold paper storage baskets:
① Take out all the remaining paper tape, and cut out an oval-shaped cardboard. This kind of paper frame does not need to be knitted, just keep applying glue.
② First use tape to connect all the remaining paper strips together.
③Use the paper tape along the edge of the oval cardboard, rotate it a little bit and stick it upwards. After each paper tape is glued, use tape to connect the next paper tape and continue to stick it. Stick it until its as high as you want it to be.
④ The premise is that the glue you choose has a viscosityIt must be strong, otherwise it will fall apart easily.
