Use paper quilling to make a pair of beautiful and unique honeycomb earrings. They are made entirely of paper, in just black and white, and are very beautiful. This is an easy to try paper quilling tutorial. If you are also interested in such creative earrings, you can follow the method below!~
This is the finished quilled paper earrings, which look like water droplets.
Material Tools:
Two colors of 1/8" paper strips (4 strips of each color, 8 strips in total)
Transparent glue
Paper pen
Paper measuring instrument
Tweezers
Toothpick or needle (for applying glue)
Low-odor clear topcoat (or equivalent sealant)
Two ear needles
Two jump rings
Jewelry pliers
The first step is to create two paper circles for the outside of the earrings (the inner diameter of the circles is 1 inch).
Take out a pink quilling paper strip, make the first tight circle on the quilling paper measure, and apply a small amount of glue to the end to bond it.
Repeat this step to make a second circle.
Next, we're going to wrap the black paper strips around the circle.
Repeat this step to make a second two-color circle.
Next, we will create the inner part of the earring, a honeycomb design.
Take out a black and a pink paper strip. Glue one end together. Do the same with the other two paper strips.
Start rolling it up on the quilling pen.
Remove the paper pencil, move the paper downward and start curling it in the opposite direction.
Continue until you reach the end of the paper strip.
When finished it should look like this, like a beautiful lace.
Use the remaining two paper strips to make another one.
Stack the two circles in your hands and pinch the tops to create a teardrop shape.
Pinch them together to make the shapes match perfectly.
Using tweezers, begin inserting the lace strip into the center of the teardrop outline.
Take your time and let the lace strips form a natural pattern inside.
Repeat steps to make the second earring.
Place the two earrings on foil-covered cardboard and spray them with clear topcoat. Then let it dry.
TranslateTurn the earring and repeat the process.
I recommend at least two coats on each side, this clear matte finish will harden things up.
Using pliers, thread the jump ring through the top of the teardrop outline and attach the jump ring to the ear pin.
Repeat for second earring.
Enjoy beautiful paper earrings!
They are more fragile than metal jewelry and should be worn with care. I highly recommend removing the earrings before showering as they are not waterproof.
Have fun trying different colors and styles!
