Flower arranging is an art form.
The Ming Dynastys flower art monograph "Vase History" mentioned:
“Flower arrangements should not be too complex, nor too thin, no more than two or three kinds, and the height and density should be as picturesque as the arrangement.”Flower arrangements at home are indeed very particular.
Choose the strongest and most beautiful flower branch as the main branch, highlighting the center, and inserting a different flower branch on each side as a foil. Avoid neatly arranged flower branches, and the main flower should stand out. Do not cross the three branches, let alone all the flower branches. Bound together for one insertion.
Even if the flower is the same, it is best to have buds, half-opened flowers, and blooming flowers at the same time to show the changes in the degree of flower opening.
So before purchasing flowers, you should consider it and purchase with purpose. When cutting flower branches, leave some leaves on the branches and clean the dirt on the leaves. The length of the branches should be determined according to the height of the vase, and generally follow the proportion of the golden section.
Arc interpolation
Arrange flowers based on three flower branches of different lengths and directions. Generally, the interpolation method of convex arc is used, and there is also the interpolation method of making the arc into concave shape.
Triangle Interpolation
With the main flower branch as the central axis, the left and right sides are symmetrical and the angles are balanced, showing solemnity and neatness. This kind of flower arrangement is full of etiquette.
Bonsai style insertion method
Arrange the flowers based on changes in branches, flowers, and colors, and on the basis of conceiving the picture. Different flower branches should also be "shaped according to the material." For example, when a plum blossom is inserted alone, there should not be too many flower branches, and the branches should be staggered horizontally and diagonally. Avoid being straight. If paired with pine branches, red and green will make it more interesting. No matter what kind of arrangement, the flower arrangement must be harmonious, balanced and rhythmic.

Commonly used containers for flower arrangements generally include vases and basins. Among them, ceramic and glass vases have elegant colors and novel styles, and they can hold water for a long time and are not easy to go rancid. Although plastic vases are light and durable, they lack natural beauty after all, and the water in the bottle is perishable. When using a vase, it is best to set up a tic-tac-toe frame at the mouth of the vase to facilitate the fixation of flower branches.
Dwarf flower branches should be planted in a water basin and a flower arrangement base should be prepared. As for bowls, plates, bottles, jars and other living utensils, if flowers are carefully selected and used wisely, they can also add interest.
