The Kooples brand was founded in 2008 by three brothers, Alexandre, Laurent and Raphael. The brand comes from the fact that the pronunciation of Kooples is similar to the English word Couple. The homophone is The Couples, so The Kooples often uses couples as spokespersons for its brand promotions, creating a brand image of "fashionable couples".
When looking for spokespersons, they are mostly amateur couples on the street. Since their true love is closer to consumers than celebrities, six couples are found every season to take fashionable and personalized promotional photos. The Kooples' style combines rock British style with French elegance, combining unisex fashion. Although the brand has separate styles for men and women, it hopes that both parties can wear each others clothes.
