Hand-knitted belt DIY materials:
10 meters of leather rope, 10 meters of cotton rope, belt buckle, needle and thread for leather, scissors, rubber bands.
DIY steps for hand-knitted belt:
The first step is to cut the leather rope and cotton rope into 6 sections respectively. Each 3 sections are combined into one group. The end of each group is fixed with a rubber band, and the other end (thread ball) is covered with a rubber band to avoid entanglement. .
In the second step, there are 4 groups of leather ropes and cotton ropes, arranged in parallel, in the order of cotton rope, leather rope, cotton rope, and leather rope. Use a tool to clamp the starting end of the rope and start braiding.
The third step is to use the four-strand flat braiding method, as shown in the picture. Every time you braid a small section, tighten the rope to make the braid look neat and even. If you want to stop and rest in the middle, you can use hairpins to fix the braiding position and continue later. Braid until the length you want and secure with bobby pins at the end of the braid.
The fourth step is to return to the starting point of the braided rope and sew a horizontal line on the braided rope. You can sew it by hand or by machine. Then wrap it around the belt buckle, as shown in the picture, sew to reinforce, and cut off excess thread.
Step 51. Measure the length of the belt you need (longer than the waist circumference), then sew a line horizontally at the desired length, and cut off the excess leather cord near the seam line, leaving the cotton cord. Knot the cotton rope at the cutting place of the leather rope, try to cover the leather cut, wrap it around after knotting, hide the thread ends in the braided rope, and finally fix it with needle and thread. The final effect is shown in the picture. You can choose ropes of different colors and thicknesses for hand-knitted belts according to the color of your clothing.
