Prepare materials and tools such as cardboard, needle and thread, transparent tape, and hole punches.
Score and punch holes at equal intervals on the rectangular cardboard.
Thread the needle at intervals.
Roll up the cardboard and secure it with tape.
Tighten the rope to create a shape inside the lantern.
Attach ribbon to the punched holes to make a lanyard.
