Fabric handmade baby shoes tutorial:
First of all, we draw the basic shoe shape with paper, and then cut the outer fabric, lining and quilting of the shoe according to the paper shape
Please note that when drawing the paper shape of the shoe sole, you should draw it so that it is opposite to each other, otherwise, the paper shape may be drawn along the edge
Cut the tripping fabric according to the paper pattern, a total of four pieces, facing each other, sew a circle, leave the bottom edge unsewed, and cut the edges along the edges
Turn it over and iron it. Make two connections
Iron the top cloth of the shoes and lay it with cotton. As you can see from the picture, there is no seam allowance when laying the cotton. Just sew the top cloth and the inner heel together
This step is very important. It is to sew the shoe ties. It is best to sew the two shoes together as shown in the picture. Look in the direction of the arrow. the first time i did it, and sadly discovered that the opening for tying the two shoes was on one side. So, if you sew together like this, you won’t make any mistakes
Turn the finished shoes inside out and put them into the upper made of cloth
As shown in the black stitch in the picture above, sew a circle along the upper shoe collar. It’s best to use a back stitch
At the heel, the seams of the outer fabric and lining should be opened
After sewing, cut the teeth at the arc of the shoe mouth. To save trouble, I always use lace scissors to cut the teeth
