There are always so many girls who love beauty, and bow headbands are becoming popular recently. The bow hair accessories sold online are exquisite, but the prices are also quite expensive, so you might as well make one yourself. The editor highly recommends the illustrated tutorial on homemade bow hair accessories, which will teach you how to DIY a beautiful bow fabric headdress. It ensures that you can quickly master the skills of making homemade bow hair accessories and make an exquisite headdress in no time.
Method/Steps
- 1Cut a longer piece of fabric to use as the main part of the headdress. The length and width should be about twice the length and width of the bow you want to make. A 20-inch-wide piece of fabric is just fine, but you don’t need to measure it exactly, it’s probably about the same.
- 2Fold the fabric in half along the long edge into a rectangle, with the patterned side facing inward. Then secure it.
- 3Sew the fabric along the long sides of the rectangle to form a tube shape.
- 4Sew the top of the rectangle, then turn the patterned side (the inside of the tubular fabric) inside out.
- 5Fold the rectangle in half along the short sides, and then sew the two short sides together.
- 6Arrange the fabric and adjust the seam to the middle of the back. This ensures that the seam will not be exposed after you complete the piece.
- 7Pinch the middle of the rectangle and adjust it to how you want it to look.
- 8Cut another small rectangular piece of fabric, then wrap it around the pinched part of the big rectangle in the way you like, and then fix it stand up.
- 9Cut off the excess part of the small rectangle and sew its two ends together, while leaving a gap between the small rectangle and the large rectangle for inserting a hairpin or hair tie.
Tips
- If you like, you can add lace or other decorations to the bow.
- If your fabric is very light, its a good idea to stuff the bow with something else, otherwise it will become loose.
Notes
- People will stare at your bow and ask you where you bought it.
- Some bows are heavier, especially those with filler inside.
