Detailed tutorial on making cloth book bags
- Prepare a long piece of fabric, fold it in half in the middle, as shown in the picture below, and sew the seam edges 1 cm on both sides. (yellow line location)
- Similarly, prepare a piece of lining fabric and fold it in half in the middle, set a 10cm return opening at one location, and sew the sides with a 1cm seam allowance. (yellow line)
- Make handbag straps. Repeat folding the strip of fabric toward the center. Depending on the fabric, if it is very thin, you can use thicker material to design it.
- Use a sewing machine to sew the ends.
- Temporarily sew the straps on both sides with a seam width of about 1 cm so that the positions of both sides of the straps are aligned.
- Turn the bag back over and place the lining fabric inside the front fabric (inside).
- Try it and if the inner fabric seems a little too long, cut and adjust it according to the front fabric.
- Sew "2cm" around the seam edge.
- Turn it back to the front through the return opening.
- The sewing machine sews a circle (yellow thread). Then sew another circle (red line) at a distance of 2 cm.
- The cloth book bag is completed. Books as big as A4 paper can be put in it.
