Today I want to share some thoughts about Father’s Day with you. Handmade book cover inspired by superheroes. Two classic characters were selected from Marvel and DC comics, namely the mean Deadpool and the righteous Batman.
So, if you think this idea is good, find out your dad’s favorite books, prepare some cloth and needlework, and let’s get started!~

You will need to prepare:
Felt cloth
Needle and Thread
Cloth tape measure
Scissors
Print template

1. You need to find some similar materials, it doesn’t have to be exactly the same as here, as long as you think dad might like it.
2. First, measure lengthwise, from the back to the front, and add 1 cm (0.5 cm on each side). Then crosswise, also add 1 cm (0.5 cm on each side).
My measurements here are: 32 x 22.5 cm.
For the inner bag, you will need a 6cm wide piece of felt.
For bookmarks, approximately 1cm x 30cm size.

3. Based on the measured data and the adjusted printing template, start cutting the felt cloth.

4. Cut out these main parts:
1 book cover body
2 rectangular pockets
1 bookmark (if needed)
Logo (easy to design using your prepared paper template)
p>
5. First, you need to sew the small logo parts together. After that, arrange the logo where you want it, pin it and sew it.
Then sew the rectangular pieces on to create pockets for inserting the cover. Also don’t forget to bookmark it.
6. We only need to use the most basic flat seam. It doesn’t matter if you don’t know it at all. Watch the video below to master it immediately:
(Flat stitch embroidery tutorial, video from the Internet)
(Look at using flat stitch to embroider small fresh cactus again, the video is from the Internet)

7. Your fabric book cover is ready, then insert the front and back covers of the book into its pocket.

8. One more thing, pay attention to the color selection of non-woven fabrics, which is also the key to the success or failure of the final work.

9. In addition to giving it as a Fathers Day gift, it is also a good idea to give it to your boyfriend. Think about it, which temperament is he more suitable for?
