Materials required for cake skirt: 1 piece of body fabric 150×56 cm, 1 piece of skirt fabric 150×42 cm, 2 pieces of lace fabric 80×12 cm, 65×0.5 elastic band 2 centimeters.
Cake skirt making steps:
1) Make a lace. Fold the front of the tie fabric in half relative to each other, as shown in the figure, sew the long side and the opening at one end. After sewing, cut off 2 corners of the fabric, then turn it over from the opening at the other end to the front and iron it flat. The two lacing methods are the same.
2) Both the body and skirt fabrics are made of fabric with a width of 150 cm, so that side seams can be omitted. Fold the front of the body fabric in half, sew the side edges, and draw a lace mark 15 cm inward from the top of the body. The skirt fabric is also folded in half with the front facing each other and the sides are sewn.
3) Fold the lower edges of the body and skirt inward into three parts and sew a circle.
4) Turn the body of the garment to the wrong side and the hem of the skirt to the front, then put the hem of the skirt over the body of the garment, overlapping it by 30 cm, as shown in the picture, fix it with a beading needle, and then sew a circle (red dotted line in the picture) ), connect the bodice and skirt together.
5) Fold the skirt down and sew another circle 1 cm below the seam line in step 4. The elastic band is attached between the two turns of stitching.
6) Fold the upper edge of the body in three and sew it around. Sew leaving enough gap for threading another piece of elastic.
7) Sew two ties on the top of the body, as shown in the picture.
8) Finally, thread two elastic bands to complete the suspender cake skirt.
