Childrens nightgown is handmade and made of brightly colored and elastic printed fabrics. The neckline is narrowed with an elastic band, making it loose and comfortable to wear. Of course, if adults like it, they can DIY it according to this tutorial. Just increase the size of the materials accordingly. The production method is the same. A very practical clothing DIY tutorial. With a little modification, you can also make a long skirt. It depends on your performance~
Materials required for childrens nightgown: For childrens nightgown between 3 and 6 years old, the fabric is 1.4 meters, the elastic width is 0.5 cm, and the length is 54 cm.
Childrens nightgown fabric cutting: Fold the fabric in half left and right, then fold it in half again, and then put the paper pattern on it, as shown in the picture, cut out 2 pieces of skirt fabric (front and back pieces of skirt) and 2 pieces of sleeve fabric (Left and right sleeves). Use the remaining fabric to cut 3 pieces of decorative fabric, with a width of 6.5 cm and a length of 30 cm, 38 cm, and 45 cm.
Steps to make children’s nightgown:
1) Make three-fold seams on one side of the three strips of decorative fabric, with a seam allowance of 0.5 cm.
2) The three strips of decorative fabric after hemming are sewn upwards from a distance of 15 cm from the top of the skirt front piece and fixed to the skirt front piece.
3) The top of the skirts front and back pieces are folded in three folds to form a perforated channel for the elastic band.
4) Use Z-shaped stitches to overlock the hems of the front and back pieces of the skirt.
5) Make a three-fold overlock seam on the cuff of the sleeve fabric, with a seam allowance of 0.5 cm. The armholes are also folded in three and sewn into holes for elastic bands
6) Cut the elastic band into 2 short elastic bands of 13 cm and 2 of 14 cm.
7) Thread two 13cm elastic bands through the top of the front and back pieces of the skirt and sew them in place. Two 14cm elastic bands are inserted into the left and right armholes and fixed with sutures.
8) Wrap the 2 pieces of skirt and 2 pieces of sleeves together, as shown in the picture, fix with beads and sew.
9) Fold the skirt in half along the shoulder line and sew both sides.
10) Trim the raw edges, fold the hem of the skirt inward by 0.5cm, then fold it inward by 3cm, and sew in one circle to complete the production of this childrens nightgown.
