The following is an introduction to the production of girls' bat shirts. It is simple, soft and fashionable. I believe all little girls will like it. This bat shirt has no sleeves, zippers, buttons, and no pleats, so it is relatively simple to make and does not require superb sewing skills. Moms with daughters at home, prepare the materials and come together to DIY!
Materials required for bat shirt: Slightly stretchy horizontal knitted fabric. (If the fabric is not elastic, the neckline should be wider when cutting so that the head can stick out from the neckline)
Bat shirt making steps:
1) Make paper patterns. Find a childs T-shirt, place it on white paper (or newspaper), use a pen to mark the center of the collar and hem of the T-shirt, and draw a cutting line as shown in the picture on the left side of the white paper. Then fold the white paper in half along the center mark and cut out the paper pattern along the drawn line.
2) Cut the fabric. Fold the fabric in half and cut the fabric along the outline of the pattern (plus a 1/2-inch seam allowance). You need to cut 1 piece each of the front piece and the back piece. Note that the neckline heights of the front and back pieces are different.
3) Cut and make neckline hemming. Cut two 1-inch-wide hemming strips on the bias from the fabric. Fold the hemming strip into 1/2 width, align the edge with the edge of the collar of the garment and sew (front to front, sew 1/2 inch), cut a few slits after sewing, and tieTurn the seam allowance to the inside and iron it flat, then sew a line along the neckline. Treat the front and back pieces of clothing in the same way.
4) Sew the shoulder. Place the front and back pieces of the garment facing each other and sew the shoulders with a seam allowance of 1/2 inch.
5) Hem stitching. Unfold the garment, fold in 1/2 inch on all sides, and double-stitch all sides.
6) Sew the side seams. Put the clothes on the child and fix them with stitches on both sides of the waist. Then carefully remove the clothes and draw a line on the stitches. After removing the stitches, sew two straight lines along the drawn line.
7) Tighten your waist. Sew an elastic band on the inside below the bust line of the dress. In order to ensure the elasticity of the dress, the length of the elastic band should be appropriate and Z-shaped stitches should be used when sewing. Sew an elastic band on the front and back of the garment. At this point, the production of childrens bat shirt is completed.
