Hello Kitty was born in 1974, also known as "Hello Kitty" in Chinese. At that time, Sanrio Company planned to launch a small wallet, and the pattern on it hoped to design a brand new character. Kittys first-generation designer Yuko Shimizu thought at the beginning of the design that childrens favorite animals were nothing more than bears, puppies and kittens. Since the first two had already been launched, she decided to use her favorite ones. I have a cat, so this little white cat with a red bow appears on the wallet. Shintaro didn't like it very much at the time, but surprisingly, the kitten became uncontrollably popular.
Now lets learn to make a Hello Kitty. Here we only make its body. As for the clothes and headwear, after the body is completed, you can freely design and change them according to your own preferences.
Hello Kitty production materials:
White felt, white embroidery thread, and roving (used for filling, more stylish than cotton).
How to make Hello Kitty:
1) Cut the felt. Cut out two pieces each for Hello Kittys arms, feet, body, head, and four pieces for the legs according to the paper shape.
2) Leg splicing. Sew the base and leg pieces together to make two legs.
3) Fill the legs. Tuck the roving into the leg opening to ensure fullness and evenness.
4) Arm splicing. Fold the arm piece in half and sew it together to become the arm.
5) Fill in the arms. Fill both arms with roving.
6) Sew the openings in the arms and legs. Note that when sewing the arm opening, keep the sutures at an angle so that the arm can hang slightly naturally when assembled later.
7) Combine the body. Sew the limbs and body together to keep Hello Kitty in a graceful posture.
8) Fill the body. Stuff the roving through Hello Kittys neck opening.
9) Suture the neck. as the picture shows.
10) Suture the head. The 2 head pieces are stitched together to make Hello Kittys head, and the roving is stuffed through the opening.
11) Combine the body and head. Use white embroidery thread to sew Hello Kittys head and body together.
12) Complete the picture.
