Carambola (scientific name: Averrhoa carambola L.), also known as: Averrhoa carambola L., alias: Averrhoa carambola, carambola, carambola, Sanlianzi, etc., belongs to the genus Averrhoa carambola, angiosperm phylum. Carambolas is a fruit produced in tropical and subtropical regions and has very high nutritional value.
Carambola is a small evergreen tree of the genus Carambola in the Oxalaceae family and can reach a height of 12 meters. The pinnately compound leaves are alternate. Because the leaves react to heat and light, they will slowly close when touched by external force. They have 5-13 leaflets, oval to elliptical, with a tapered top, rounded base, and skewed one side. The flowers are small, bisexual, with deep red flower branches and buds; the underside of the petals is lavender, with lighter edges, sometimes pink or white, in axillary panicles; the flowering period is from late spring to autumn. The berries are oval to oblong, light green or waxy yellow, sometimes with dark red. The fruit is in the shape of a five-pointed star.
