Want to draw a good painting? Many people want to draw a good picture, but they don't get the point. Now I’m going to give you some advice, taking pencil drawing of a cat as an example to introduce you to the essentials of drawing beautiful pictures! Of course, if you want to draw beautiful paintings, you still need to practice diligently. Let’s try it together!
Method/Steps
- 1Think about what you want to draw. Characters, still lifes, animals, and scenery are all good choices.
- 2Choose a pencil suitable for drawing. Commonly used pencils can be used to apply medium shading and draw medium and thick lines; B-type pencils are darker. The larger the pencil number, the darker the color. For example, a 6B pencil will be much darker than a 2B pencil. If you want to draw soft lines, the H-type pencil is the best choice. For H-type pencils, the larger the number, the softer the lines. For example, the color of a 6H pencil is much lighter than that of a 2H pencil. Many art supply stores sell a variety of drawing pencils. Different brushes are crucial to a good painting.
- 3Sharpen the pencil. The sharper the nib, the smoother your drawing, so sharpen your pencil regularly.
- 4Choose the right drawing paper. West cardboard is currently the best drawing paper. The smoother the surface of the drawing paper, the better the picture quality.
- 5Wash your hands frequently to prevent contamination of drawing paper. Wash your hands before painting to prevent stains on the paper. If you go to eat on the way, remember to wash your hands before you come back to paint.
- 6Avoid rubbing the pencil coating on the drawing paper with your hands. In other words, please don't touch the drawing with your hands. Try to put your hands on the blank areas of the drawing paper. This can prevent the pencil lines from being scratched.
- 7Use a soft eraser. The soft eraser is a special eraser for drawing, which can erase pencil marks without damaging the paper surface.
- 8Use simple and soft lines to quickly outline the outline of the drawn object. Try to break down the outline of the item you are drawing into basic geometric shapes, such as circles, squares, triangles, rectangles, etc. Pay attention to the proportions between parts (for example, an object is two and a half times taller and twice as wide as the reference object next to it).
- 9Carefully edit the pictures until The graphic outline achieves the desired effect.
- 10The more time you spend retouching, the more vivid, precise and moving your images will be. No matter how good the details are, it will be in vain if the outline is not perfected.
- 11After revising the outline and shape, you can polish the picture. Use thin and soft lines to depict changes in light and shadow and details.
- 12After everything is ready, you can start the final tracing work. Use a felt tip pen or sharpened pencil to correct details and add solid lines.
- 13If you are using a pen, please use an eraser (an eraser works better than an ordinary eraser) to erase the outline before pencil tracing.
- 14If you like, you can use Simple techniques, such as thin wavy lines, color the painting.
- 15Congratulations on successfully completing the painting! If your drawing is not satisfactory, please practice diligently. Hard work will pay off and you will succeed one day!
Tips
- Too much haste is a big no-no in painting.
- If your sketching effect is not good, please refer to the drawing tutorial to master the basic knowledge of line shapes.
- If there is no special need, don’t paint too hard. Pencils that are too heavy will make the lines appear dark and difficult to erase, and will make the pencil dull more easily.
- Before painting, be aware of the objects you are painting.
- Be patient.
- There should be a hard backing board under the drawing paper so that the lines will be straighter.
- The light should be bright when painting.
- Don't write too hard, otherwise the lines will be difficult to erase.
- Please try the colors before painting to avoid the colors you choose not being as expected.
- Pay attention to the bottom of the paper and do not let sharp objects scratch the drawing paper.
- When painting, you must concentrate and be full of energy. Lack of energy may cause you to write like the wind and cope with things. If you feel tired, take a break first and then start painting again when you feel better.
- If the structure of the object you are drawing is relatively complex, you can make a draft first, which will allow you to understand the detailed structure of the object. If the sketch suits you, you can copy it and work on the details.
- Be careful not to be disturbed when painting.
- Warm up before starting to paint. Make a few sketches, it doesn't matter if they are bad. This will put you at ease.
- Don’t be afraid of change, don’t be influenced by others, make your own paintings!
- Choose the right color.
- Refer to other peoples work for inspiration, but don't copy it.
Notes
- Don’t press your hands on the drawing paper, as this will smear the pencil marks!
- Painting cutDon't let others disturb you.
- Determine whether you want to collect your paintings, sell them, or give them away. If you give it away, it will be difficult to get the painting back.
