Our Spring Festival refers to the period from the 23rd or 24th day of the twelfth lunar month when the stove is sacrificed to the fifteenth day of the first lunar month, with New Years Eve, the first day of the first lunar month and the Lantern Festival as the climax.
The twenty-third day of the twelfth lunar month is commonly known as the "Little Year". Legend has it that this day is the day when "the Kitchen God ascends to heaven", so the Kitchen God must be worshiped. The seventh day after the Little New Year is the New Years Eve, and according to custom, dumplings should be eaten. In addition, we also eat stove candies on this day.
And for New Years Eve, we have to post couplets next to the door of our house, and sometimes we also post couplets on the door gods. In the evening, the whole family will get together to have New Years Eve dinner. After that, except for children and the elderly, we all have to stay up late.
The next day, the first day of the first lunar month, we are going to pay New Year greetings. To our peers, we should say blessing words such as "Happy New Year"; to our elders, we should kneel down and worship in turn. After New Year greetings, what we children love most is giving out New Years money. Giving lucky money during the New Year reflects the care of the elders for the younger generation and the respect of the younger generation for the elders.
