In the Middle Ages, drifting bottles were one of the limited means for people to communicate across the vast ocean. The note sealed in the bottle often contains important information or sincere wishes. Discovering that the drifting bottle may come from an unknown realm may be a surprise, mystery, surprise and expectation for ancient sailors. In March 2018, an Australian family discovered a drifting bottle on a beach in Western Australia that was more than 130 years old. It is considered the oldest drifting bottle and was put into the sea by a German naval observation team in the second half of the 19th century to study the worlds ocean currents.
