There are 28 species of pine caterpillars in my country, but the most serious ones are the masson pine caterpillar, tabulaeformis pine caterpillar, red pine caterpillar, Yunnan pine caterpillar, and larch pine caterpillar. Pine caterpillars are widely distributed in my country, starting from Heilongjiang in the north, Hainan Island in the south, Tibet and Xinjiang in the west, and the coast, Zhoushan and Taiwan in the east. The annual occurrence area is more than 1.3 million hectares, and the highest occurrence year has reached more than 3 million hectares, with a loss of about 3 million cubic meters of forest growth.
