Susan Brownell Anthony (English: Susan Brownell Anthony, February 15, 1820 - March 13, 1906) was a famous American civil rights leader. She was one of the most important figures among American women in the 19th century. Played a key role in the movement for voting rights. She and Elizabeth Cady Stanton were co-founders of the first womens temperance movement organization, and she was also a co-founder of the feminist magazine Revolution. She travels throughout the United States and Europe and delivers an average of 75 to 100 lectures per year. She was one of the key leaders in the process of womens rights being recognized and legalized by the U.S. government.
