Alexander Graham Bell (March 3, 1847 - August 2, 1922) was an American invention Homes and Entrepreneurs.
He patented the worlds first usable telephone and founded the Bell Telephone Company (the predecessor of AT&T). There is still controversy about the inventor of the telephone. On June 15, 2002, the U.S. Congress determined that Italian Antonio Meucci was the inventor of the telephone. The Canadian Congress passed a resolution on June 21, 2002, reaffirming that Bell was the inventor of the telephone. Others believe that Elisha Gray was the inventor of the telephone.
In 2004, he was selected as one of the "Top Ten Outstanding Canadians" by television viewers in the "Greatest Canadians" selection held by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.
