It was summer vacation, and I was concentrating on doing my homework at home. I suddenly looked up and saw a green dragonfly landing on the fence of the window. Its colorful and very cute. I walked behind it involuntarily and reached out to catch it. I curiously put it on the pencil case and observed it carefully, but it didn't move. This dragonfly has a slender body, light green body color, head and tail length of 8 cm, slender, soft and light, with a pair of protruding, emerald-like big eyes and a mouth like iron pincers on its round head. There are two pairs of gauze-like wings on both sides of the body, which are flat and long, crystal clear, and fly overlapping. Below are six tapering legs. The long tail is composed of many small sections and can bend freely. Dragonflies also have a "treasure" - a tail that can maintain balance and control direction, which is equivalent to the tail of an airplane. Don't look down on this tiny tail. Like the gecko, the dragonflys tail also has a regenerative function, but it is the only food for the dragonfly when it is hungry and has nothing to eat.
My hometown is on the outskirts of the city, which is a paradise for dragonflies. On a summer afternoon, a flock of dragonflies came lightly and flew in the cloudless sky. There are bright red ones, green ones, and yellowish brown ones; some have red tails but yellow bodies. Sometimes they hover, sometimes dive, quickly skimming the water surface, and occasionally tap the water surface with the tip of their tail, causing ripples to appear in circles. This is probably "dragonfly touching the water". When a dragonfly flies, it flies high and low, speeds up, and flies slowly. Maybe it was tired, a dragonfly landed lightly on a budding flower bud, its eyes opened and closed, shining brightly under the sunlight. The wings are constantly fluttering and the tail is pouting. This scene reminds me of the famous line written by Yang Wanli, a poet from the Song Dynasty, which has been passed down through the ages: "The little lotus has just revealed its sharp corners, and a dragonfly has already stood on it."
After a heavy rain, the sun shines on the earth. Dragonflies emerge from nowhere and fly happily in the sky. They look very proud. When some fall, their dexterous little claws gently grasp the dry branches. On the ground, the tail is always raised up and down, and the dexterous wings are retracted forward and then become motionless. Look at its pair of wings, which are crystal clear and sparkling under the sunlight. What an attractive dragonfly!
