Illustrated picture tutorial on how to make diy homemade multifunctional lockers and storage boxes from waste cartons

Since After becoming obsessed with renovating waste cardboard boxes, I made many objects. A while ago I learned how to make a small cabinet with side doors, and I wanted to try it out right away. Unfortunately, the house is already full of cabinets, so we can only decide how big of a cabinet to make by finding a suitable place first. After a period of careful exploration, I finally found that there was still an empty space on the TV cabinet that was barely usable, so I started working on it immediately and felt a sense of accomplishment after finishing it.

Finished product The size is approximately: 50(width)*46(height)*30(depth)

Width The upper small cabinet is slightly wider than the three-layer drawer. The small cabinet takes up about 26cm and the drawer takes up 24cm; each drawer takes up 26cm.The clear height of the floor is 12.5cm, and the partition part is 2cm thick.

Production The process is as follows:
1. First make the three drawers on the right side, cut out the cardboard for the drawer frame, lay the base with white tape, and assemble them. The side panels of the drawer sets are made of two layers of cardboard, and a layer of cardboard is also added between each drawer set. The corrugated directions are matched horizontally and vertically to increase the load-bearing capacity.

2 . Then make the frame of the small side-opening cabinet on the left and fix it with the drawer frame on the right. Because there are three layers of cardboard in the places with the most cardboard layers in these frames, the places with insufficient layers are filled accordingly. Cardboard is added to ensure that the thickness of each part is consistent, and the corrugated sheets are matched horizontally and vertically to enhance the load-bearing capacity. The depth of the outermost layer of cardboard is about 7mm greater than the frame (that is, the thickness of a piece of cardboard). Finally, install the back panel. Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures of this step. Sorry. Also tape the interface with white tape. I first used a thin paper shell to cut a strip of paper as wide as the interface and fixed it on the interface, and then attached the white tape, so that it would look neater.

3. Next, make the cabinet door, using the crease part of the carton, and adding an extra layer of cardboard to the inside of the door. The cabinet doors should also be primed and surface tape applied, and then the cabinet doors should be glued to the side walls of the frame.

4 , and made a two-layered small shelf, which can be used as a partition in the side-opening small cabinet. The width of the small shelf is less than the width of the frame of the small cabinet by one layer of cardboard thickness (that is, the thickness of the cardboard of the cabinet door just fixed), so that the small shelf can fit into the frame of the small cabinet. The back panel at the end of the overall frame should be installed after placing the small shelf in the small cabinet, otherwise it will be difficult to install the small shelf.

5 , make three drawers. I made the drawer part smaller than the frame, and then made an extra drawer outer panel that is close to the size of the drawer cover, and glued it to the outer layer of the drawer, so that the gap looks small., prettier, and the drawers are easier to pull out.
