It doesn’t get any easier than this, make a succulent planter out of a milk carton!
Scavenge your unwanted waste from our recycling bins and make something great out of it. This not only protects the environment and saves a purchase cost, but more importantly, it gives you the satisfaction of turning waste into treasure!
Material Tools:
linen
Milk carton
Hot glue gun

Paper knife
Soil
Plants
Little stones

1. Prepare a waste paper box of the size you want, preferably a 1-2 liter box. The height can be easily adjusted with scissors and a paper cutter.
2. Measure and mark the height, here I determined 5 inches.
3. Use a paper cutter to cut along the line to make an opening and remove the top.
4. Cut slowly and carefully so you don't break the carton or cut yourself.
5. Next we need to cut the burlap, we will use two pieces. The width is the width of the milk carton plus 1-2 inches, and the length should be enough to cover one side, the bottom, and the opposite side, leaving a little more to fold over the edges.
6. Now fold the short end of the burlap over the open edge of the milk carton. Apply glue to keep it in place, then wrap the burlap around the sides, bottom and opposite sides. Then at the opposite openingFold the edge and glue it in place.
7. Apply glue to the two long sides and attach them to the carton.
Add a second strip of burlap to the other side, also covering the entire milk carton.
Fold both sides of the long edge so that it lines up with the panel of the milk carton.
8. After making the flowerpot, you can add soil and succulents.
Since our pot does not have drainage holes, we need to create a drainage layer. Apply a layer of rocks before adding the cactus soil.
9. You can grow several different succulents, or you can grow just one. Don't overwater as succulents only need a small amount of water.
10. Feel free to add some embellishments, maybe a ribbon, old buttons, or jewelry. You can even use burlapDraw a pattern on it.
This is a fun DIY and a perfect green gift that can be given to family and friends~
